The official date of the presentation of the ultra-thin Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim smartphone and key innovations have been revealed

Samsung is preparing to introduce a new generation of its flagship smartphones – Galaxy S25 series. The Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on January 23, 2025 (3:00 Korean time), and the official launch is scheduled for February 7. The lineup is expected to include four models, including the new — Galaxy S25 Slim.

According to insider information, after the presentation of the Galaxy S25 at Galaxy Unpacked, the pre-order period will start — from January 24 to February 3. Customers who pre-order will receive the devices on February 4. Official sales in South Korea will begin on February 7.

This schedule is slightly different from last year's Galaxy S24 launch (January 31), which emphasizes Samsung's desire for a more polished and convincing presentation of new flagships.

Among the new products, the Galaxy S25 Slim attracts particular attention – an ultra-thin and lightweight smartphone aimed at users who value compactness and portability. This model will be Samsung's first «ultra-thin» device since the Galaxy Alpha in 2014.

Although the exact thickness parameters have not yet been disclosed, the Galaxy S25 Slim is expected to be thinner than the 7.6 mm Galaxy S24. Interestingly, the smartphone will likely receive a battery of the same capacity as the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which will be a significant achievement in optimizing the internal space of the device.

Technical specifications of the Galaxy S25

The Galaxy S25 series promises significant hardware upgrades:

  • Snapdragon 8 Elite processor for all models in the series.
  • The Ultra models will receive up to 16 GB of RAM in 512 GB and 1 TB configurations, which is the first time since the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
  • The ultra-wide camera will be upgraded from 12MP to 50MP, promising a significant improvement in photo quality.
  • One UI 7 with a focus on improved security for generative AI.

These technical updates highlight Samsung's focus on high performance and integration of advanced AI features.
