Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 bug allows instant unlock of holiday event rewards

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone players who were eagerly awaiting the new holiday event were left disappointed by a serious glitch that allowed some to instantly unlock all of the event rewards.

“Archie’s Festival Frenzy” in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 became the second holiday event in December, following the conclusion of the “Merry Mayhem” December 19.

The new “Archie’s Festival Frenzy” event in Call of Duty once again gives players the chance to unlock a ton of rewards, including new cosmetic items like loading screens, operator skins, calling cards, emblems, and more. There’s also double XP tokens, and the main reward is a new weapon — the AMR Mod 4 sniper rifle. The event runs until January 3rd, giving players two weeks to accumulate as many “Jolly Archies” as possible — the in-game currency for the event. However, some players have found that they already have thousands of “Jolly Archies” to spend.

On Reddit, various users are sharing posts about how they started the event with thousands of “Jolly Archies”. For comparison, the most expensive reward costs only 50 “Jolly Archies”, but one player started with over 20,000, which allowed them to instantly unlock all cosmetic items and new weapons.

Not everyone was affected by this glitch. Some players, like RMennie, started the event without any in-game currency. The bug has caused mixed reactions in the community, with some happy that they won't have to play much during the holidays, while others are disappointed because they “were waiting for a difficult challenge”. The “Archie’s Festival Frenzy” event includes 14 rewards, and the final one is a new sniper rifle. For those who are unlucky with the glitch, there are two weeks to unlock all the rewards.

Since its release on October 25, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has already held several in-game events, many of which allowed you to unlock new weapons. However, one of the first events caused controversy, as players could pay to instantly unlock a new weapon – the Sirin 9mm SMG, which was supposed to be the reason for completing the “Hit List” event. But shortly after the event started, Activision added a new set to the in-game store with the Sirin 9mm blueprint, which allowed you to instantly get the base weapon.
