Ukrainian developers presented the first FPV drone made entirely from domestic parts

The Ukrainian company Vyriy drone has introduced the first fully localized FPV drone made from domestically produced spare parts. The model became the first example of abandoning imported components and demonstrating independence from Chinese suppliers, informs Militarny.

Ukrainian components were used to manufacture the drone: frame, motors, propellers, camera, signal transmitter and receiver, as well as flight controller and speed governor. The drone is equipped with a thermal imaging camera «Kurbas-256» from Odd Systems, and the motors were provided by the manufacturer Motor-G. Although some parts, such as neodymium magnets or lens-matrix blocks, are still imported from China due to the lack of alternatives, the Ukrainian team is actively working on replacing them.

The first steps towards localization of production began back in 2023, when Vyriy drone achieved 70% localization of its serial drones. The main focus was on replacing mechanical parts and complex electronics elements. The new drone costs about 21,000 hryvnias, but with the launch of mass production, this amount may decrease.

Manufacturers emphasize that the localized drone has advantages over imported analogues, since it was created taking into account the specific needs of the Ukrainian military. Refusal from Chinese suppliers also protects production from possible export restrictions.

This event was an important step for the Ukrainian defense industry, which continues to develop innovative technologies, ensuring independence and increasing the effectiveness of military operations.
