Scammers have decided to use the situation in the frontline areas to their advantage and are trying to deceive Ukrainian farmers. They are spreading fake messages about the sale of livestock on farms in the Ukrainian segment of Facebook.
The brand manager of the agricultural company Volodymyr Mirnenko reported this on his Facebook page. He explained the scheme used by the scammers.
“Recently, a new type of fraud has spread online – selling cows. There is an announcement about the closure of some large farm in the frontline zone with the name and address of the real farm and an offer to purchase breeding stock at a big discount. By phone number, they offer to cancel the subscription in order to reserve cows for themselves,” – noted Mirnenko.
He emphasizes that such messages have become more frequent on Facebook. Over the past six months, he has come across similar reports about four large farms, but none of them have confirmed either the closure or the desire to sell cows.
This was also confirmed by the Association of Milk Producers of Ukraine and noted that the companies that appear in such companies are actually working.
“Representatives of the dairy community are actively sharing this post out of a desire to help, but unfortunately, they are helping scammers in this way, as a result, LLC “Veleten” has a shocking over 900 shares. Similar reports have already appeared about other progressive farms, and therefore AVM posted a corresponding complaint on Facebook,” – AVM noted.
