Some seniors can apply for an additional PLN 258 per month. For whom is the supplement?
As reported by the “Goniec” portal, seniors can count on an additional PLN 258 to their pension. This amount is paid from March 2024. To receive the money, you must submit an application. Once accepted, the funds will be transferred to the applicant for life. It does not depend on the amount of the benefit received. How to apply? Who can apply for the supplement.
Senior supplement. Who can count on PLN 258
Some seniors can apply for a supplement of PLN 258. After submitting an application and its acceptance, the supplement is paid for life. As indicated by the “Goniec” portal, thanks to it seniors can gain as much as PLN 3,096 per year.
Unfortunately, the supplement is paid to representatives of two professions. We are talking about people who in the past worked either as volunteer firefighters or mountain rescuers.
The rescue benefit, because that's what we're talking about, was introduced in 2021. Since March of this year, it has been paid in the amount of PLN 258. It is paid by the Pension and Annuity Institution of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration. Seniors entitled to it receive the transfer by the 15th day of each month. In December, the payout will be on December 13.
What conditions must be met?
To be able to use supplement, the senior citizen applying for it must document the appropriate seniority. In the case of men, this is 25 years of seniority and participation in rescue operations. In the case of women, the required seniority is 5 years shorter.
Evidence of this may be a written certificate signed by at least 3 people. One of the signatories must be a person “who has held public offices or been employed in an office serving a local government body”. Its scope of work must at least partially overlap with that in which the applicant participated in rescue operations.
The application should be submitted to the district or city commander of the State Guard Fire.
