Messenger Used for Cyberattacks, Espionage, and Missile Strike Adjustments
Ukrainian officials are increasingly concerned about the country's dependence on the Telegram messenger. It is suspected of being used by Russia for disinformation and espionage.

“According to a recent survey, partly commissioned by the US government, about 70 percent of Ukrainians use Telegram as their main source of news,” the report says.
Secret cybersecurity meetings this year discussed the possibility of new restrictions on the application. According to intelligence, Telegram is used for cyberattacks, espionage, and missile strike correction.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, though he has a Telegram channel with 700,000 subscribers, does not install the application on his personal phone.
At the same time, in March, officials called on Apple to restrict Telegram through the App Store.
“(Russia – Ed.) does not and cannot have access to user information. Telegram has always been and remains safe for Ukrainians and users around the world,” Telegram responded.
