A court sentenced a Kyiv region resident who tried to pass on collected data on the personnel of the SBU and the Armed Forces of Ukraine to 15 years in prison in exchange for employment with the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation.
As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office.
A man was found guilty of attempted high treason under martial law (Part 3 Art. 15, Part 2 Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
He was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The prosecutors in court proved that during 2022, a resident of the Kyiv region recruited citizens to collect and transmit data on the personnel of the SBU, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as other information of interest to the intelligence and subversive activities of the FSB of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine.
Furthermore, the convicted person tried to cross the state border of Ukraine with the Republic of Hungary with the intelligence obtained by him and his agents. There, he planned to pass on the information he received to employees of the Russian Embassy in exchange for personal enrichment and assistance in finding employment with the Russian FSB.

Based on the collected evidence and convincing arguments of the prosecution, the man was sentenced to a real term of imprisonment.
The convict was awaiting the court's verdict in custody.
