Another proposed agreement has just been made in the public sector. It concerns 4,000 workers, members of the Quebec Public and Parapublic Service Union.

The SFPQ indicated Tuesday that the proposed agreement in principle was going to be studied by an intermediate body, the negotiating council, which is made up of: around fifty delegates.

The negotiating council is due to meet on Wednesday. It will then decide whether the proposed agreement will be submitted to a vote by the members.

These workers, who work at the Ministry of Transport, in prison kitchens and nurseries, had a strike mandate which they did not have to exercise.

The other large SFPQ group concerned by public sector negotiations, namely that of 26,000 civil servants, is still in negotiations.
