American engineers have developed a new generation of multi-purpose combat drones

The US Army has begun a new stage in the evolution of combat technology with the introduction of innovative drones. The new generation drones include models such as the Skydio for infantry patrols and the GhostX for reconnaissance.

The Skydio has a maximum flight time of 30 minutes and a range of 3−5 km. At the same time, the GhostX can operate at a distance of up to 15 km (with the possibility of increasing to 25 km) and has a flight time of up to one hour. These new systems are changing the approach to combat operations, allowing American troops to be more mobile and effective.

It is worth adding that the new drones will replace the already outdated MQ-1 Predator, which operated from 1995 to 2018.

It is reported that the American military has already integrated these systems into their training. In the future, it is planned to provide all units of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team with Skydio drones. It is also planned to expand the use of GhostX at the battalion level.

Such drone systems will help the command quickly make informed decisions, while maintaining the safety of military units. The introduction of such technologies significantly increases the effectiveness of the army on the battlefield.
