iOS continues to surprise users not only with advanced features, but also with solutions that do without artificial intelligence technologies. The new update brought a number of unexpectedly useful tools that made the system more convenient and intuitive.

If you're tired of Apple's default apps for Mail, Messages, and Web browsing, iOS 18.2 makes it super easy to change those defaults. Go to Settings, Apps, and Default Apps to change all your defaults on one page.
Settings include your browser, email app, messaging app, call filtering service, password manager, and keyboard.
The iPhone 16 series has a camera control button that lets you tap on photos and quickly adjust camera settings. With iOS 18.2, Apple has added a few new features to this button. For example, you can now lightly press the button to lock exposure and focus before taking a photo.
Another important addition prevents accidental activation of the iPhone 16 camera. This feature is called Require Screen On, and it will prevent your iPhone's camera from opening when the screen is off. This feature is enabled by default, and you can find it in Settings, Display & Brightness, and Require Screen On.
You can share the location of your AirTag or other accessory “Locator” with trusted third parties, such as airline employees, if you need their help tracking lost items.
In the Finder app, go to the Items tab, select an accessory, and tap Share Item Location to share its location for a limited time.
iOS 18.2 has added several key improvements to Safari for iPhone and iPad. Users can now import and export browsing data through device settings, which greatly simplifies information management. New background images have appeared to personalize the start page.
iPhone owners with Dynamic Island will notice that it now displays the progress of file downloads. The most important update is the automatic conversion of http addresses to the more secure https, which increases the protection of user data.
When you publish photos and videos in your favorite app, iOS 18.2 allows automatically remove location data from the image. You can also change the format for sharing them.
These features are located in the “Settings” section, “Privacy and security”, “Photos”, [App name], “Options”. Please note that you will need to do this for each app separately, and some app developers do not yet support this feature.
The moment you are playing music or a video on your iPhone and lock the screen, you you will see the Now Playing widget on your lock screen.
In iOS 18.2, you can now add a volume slider to a widget on the lock screen. This allows you to control the volume without pressing the physical volume buttons. This feature is located in Settings, Accessibility, Audio & Video, and Always Show Volume Control.
There are a few more new features in iOS 18.2.
