Fifty-two writers will be featured on Saturday at La nuit de la lecture au Québec. Roxane Bouchard, Marie Laberge, David Goudreault, Francine Ruel, Kim Thuy, Jean-Christophe Réhel and many others will whisper, declaim and recount adventures or poetry.
This free online event offers 30 blocks of activities for all ages between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.
“The night of reading is a night which invites us to be in intimacy with the words and with the voices of writers, and, above all, to be in intimacy with our dreams, with open ears”, indicated the writer. Kim Thuy, spokesperson, along with Simon Boulerice, for this third edition.
Writers who will do these readings in the comfort of their home and who will also deliver things of their own. They will also offer favorites from booksellers, libraries and cultural organizations.
The offer is varied. We find stories, poetry, thrillers, science fiction, slams and encounters, as with Marie Laberge, where writers tell each other.
To participate in La nuit de la lecture, you must register on the nuitlecture.ca site where the program, grouped under various themes, is online. It’s free. It is possible to register for an activity by programming block.
This is an initiative of the Quebec Writers’ Union and the Read for Success Foundation.
This Night of Reading follows a French initiative, launched five years ago, where reading is celebrated on a Saturday in January.
