More infections in 24 hours than yesterday, above the 2,000 threshold for the third consecutive day. There are two important data: the number of municipalities with at least one case no longer decreases, but is moving towards regrowth – says Silvio Brusaferro, president of ISS, commenting on the weekly monitoring -. And the median age at diagnosis of 28. A very low value, lower than last summer’s peak. With regard to the stability of the health system, Brusaferro speaks of hundreds of people at risk of hospitalization and specifies: A study on the impact of the Delta variant on the occupancy of beds in the medical and intensive care area as of 31 August provides, with a hypothesis of the RT at 1.3, a scenario that remains below the critical thresholds with the possibility of exceeding the occupancy of beds by 5-10%.
