25 mm gun and LIDAR systems: Aselsan introduced the ZMA-X drone

This is the third heavy ground drone developed by the Turkish defense company, along with Shadow Rider from FNSS and Alpar from Otokar.

At Teknofest 2024 in Turkey, which runs from October 2 to 6, local company Aselsan presented the ZMA-X unmanned ground vehicle, based on the upgraded ACV-15, also known as the ZMA-15 infantry fighting vehicle. TurDef writes about it.

This is the third heavy ground drone developed by a Turkish defense company, along with FNSS's Shadow Rider and Otokar's Alpar. The ZMA-X is equipped with an Aselsan 25mm Nefer unmanned turret system with additional armor plates and LIDAR systems.

The remotely operated turret turns the ACV-15 into an unmanned platform.

To improve the protection of the machine, additional armor plates were added, similar to those installed on the modernized ACV-15. The vehicle is equipped with LIDAR systems that improve situational awareness, similar to the proximity sensors used in the UGV Shadow Rider conversion kit for the M113 armored fighting vehicle.

The Nefer, also known as the SARP 100/25, is a an unmanned turret developed by Aselsan for tactical vehicles. It is compatible with NATO weapons systems and Russian developments.

The Nefer turret is equipped with a number of main and paired installations, including automatic cannons: MK44, 2A42, M242, KBA and M811. Paired weapons include 12.7mm M2 and NSV machine guns, as well as 7.62mm FN MAG58/M240 and PKT machine guns.

The turret is equipped with day and night imaging systems and a gyro-stabilized platform to ensure accuracy . Among other functions — laser range finder, fire control system, ammo counter and last ammo warning.
