12 reasons to wait for iPhone 17 and not buy iPhone 16

Apple hasn't even had time to properly sell its new iPhone 16s, and the Internet is already abuzz with rumors about the next model. Insiders have long started sharing details about the iPhone 17, and every month there are more and more of them. And you know, if you believe all these leaks, then the “seventh generation” promises to be something completely new. Let's figure out what awaits us.

What else is worth knowing

Let's start with the iPhone 17 Air. This is something completely new in the lineup, and it seems that Apple wants to replace the usual Plus with it. They say that it will be the thinnest smartphone of the company — only 6 mm. Add to this a 6.5-inch display, an advanced front camera and Apple's own 5G chip. The camera is also intriguing: one module that replaces three at once. It sounds like magic, right?

As for materials, there are also interesting changes here. Apple decided to make the frame of the Pro models out of aluminum. Why did they abandon steel and titanium? It remains to be seen, but it looks like this is an attempt to make the smartphone lighter. The camera unit will also not remain unchanged: it will become rectangular, with an aluminum body and two types of materials on the back panel. But there is one nuance – the protrusion will be the largest in the entire history of the iPhone.

The displays will also be updated. The base model will receive 6.3 inches instead of the usual 6.1, and the “legendary” Air – the same 6.5 inches as the old Max. And the best news – ProMotion at 120 Hz will now appear in the entire line. Even in the base models! Well, this is a revolution, you must agree.

And Apple is finally switching to its own communication modules. They say that all iPhone 17 will receive a 5G modem and Wi-Fi 7. This should make them even more reliable. There is also interesting news about the cameras: the zoom lens in the Pro Max will become 48 MP, and the front camera of all models will increase to 24 MP. Imagine what selfies you will be able to take?

The display will be covered with a special anti-reflective coating that will protect against scratches. It looks like Gorilla Glass Armor, but Apple, as always, will not say directly. And another interesting thing: RAM will increase to 12 GB in all models, which will allow Apple Intelligence to work better and speed up the system as a whole.

The Dynamic Island will also be updated. It will become smaller thanks to the new location of Face ID, and, frankly, this was long overdue. And under the hood, of course, a new processor – A19 and A19 Pro, which will once again raise the performance bar.
