112 paintings from Medvedchuk's collection will be transferred to the National Art Museum

Expert art historians recognized 112 paintings from the collection of Viktor Medvedchuk, arrested as part of criminal proceedings, as having historical and cultural value. The procedure of their sale will be stopped and handed over to the National Art Museum for preservation.

This was reported by the press service of the National Agency of Ukraine for Identification, Search and Management of Assets Obtained from Corruption and Other Crimes (ARMA).

In total, experts of the National Art Museum of Ukraine examined 285 paintings that have been stored there since 2022. Of them, 112 paintings were recognized as having cultural and historical value.

During the next meeting of the competition commission, the issue of suspending the sale of these paintings and transferring them to the National Museum of Ukraine for preservation, – stated in the ARMA message.

Works that do not have cultural and historical value will be sold through the Prozorro.Prodazhi electronic platform. Funds from the sale will replenish the budget of Ukraine.

We remind you that these paintings previously belonged to collaborator and traitor Viktor Medvedchuk and were arrested as part of criminal proceedings. Later, by court decision, they were handed over to ARMA for sale.

On April 19, ARMA announced the start of sale of Medvedchuk's paintings. At the same time, on the initiative of the National Agency for the Preservation of the Cultural Heritage of Ukraine, the involvement of experts in order to carry out an art examination was initiated for the inspection of paintings.
